Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (hereinafter "the Terms") define the conditions of access and use of the Bingy service (hereinafter "the Service"), accessible via the website www.bingy.cc and the Bingy Chrome extension.

By using the Service, you fully accept these Terms. If you do not agree to these conditions, please do not use the Service.

Bingy is a language learning platform that provides personalized bilingual subtitles on Netflix. The Service includes:

• A Chrome extension that adapts Netflix subtitles to the user's vocabulary level
• A vocabulary test to assess your level in the target language
• A contextual translation system for unknown words directly within the subtitles
• A website for account, subscription, and settings management

The Service is accessible to anyone with an Internet connection and the Google Chrome browser. Using the Service requires an active Netflix subscription (not included with the Bingy Service).

Bingy reserves the right to temporarily suspend or interrupt access to the Service for maintenance or updates, without any obligation of compensation.

Registration is done via Google OAuth authentication. The user agrees to provide accurate information and to maintain the confidentiality of their login credentials.

Each user is responsible for all activity carried out from their account. In case of unauthorized use, the user must immediately notify Bingy at contact@bingy.cc.

The user agrees to:

• Use the Service in accordance with its intended purpose
• Not attempt to circumvent the security measures of the Service
• Not use the Service for unlawful purposes or purposes contrary to public order
• Not reproduce, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit all or part of the Service
• Not use bots, scripts, or other automated means to access the Service

Any breach of these obligations may result in the suspension or termination of the account without notice or refund.

All elements of the Service (software, algorithms, interface, content, trademarks, logos) are the exclusive property of Bingy and are protected by intellectual property law.

The subscription grants a personal, non-exclusive, and non-transferable right to use the Service for the duration of the subscription.

Bingy collects and processes the following personal data as part of the operation of the Service:

• Identification data: name, email address (via Google OAuth)
• Usage data: vocabulary level, selected languages, preferences
• Payment data: managed exclusively by Stripe (Bingy does not store any banking information)

This data is hosted on Supabase (cloud infrastructure) and is never sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

In accordance with the GDPR, you may exercise your rights (access, rectification, deletion, portability) by contacting contact@bingy.cc or by using the account deletion page.

The Service is provided "as is." Bingy does not guarantee that the Service will be free from interruptions, errors, or defects.

Bingy shall not be held liable for:

• Malfunctions related to Netflix, Google Chrome, or the user's technical environment
• The quality of generated translations (provided for informational purposes for learning)
• Indirect damages resulting from the use of the Service

Bingy reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of any substantial changes by email or via the Service. Continued use of the Service after modification constitutes acceptance of the new conditions.

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute and failing amicable resolution, the French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
